Je me casse :). Petit récapitulatif :

Y retourner

Sam me manque terriblement.

Thursday 18 may

What the hell !!! I finally managed to get on the plane to Australia. I really think I'm not lucky. So, i'm in Singapour now and i'm leaving at 22:15. I still have few hours to talk about my life. I don't remember when i stop talking about these visa stuffs. But anyway, I had the nomination letter with the wrong begining and ending dates and after one week, I managed to have these dates changed : I am allowed to stay 1year and 2 months in Australia :).

Visa ? visa ? visa ? ... no :(

As soon as I received the nomination, I went to the embassy on Friday. I though I would get my visa immediatly. So I would be able to book for a flight on Monday because i had already had my medical examination on Tuesday. However, when i met the guy from the embassy, he told me he couldn't make my visa : the date of my inssurance were not up to date and they didn't seem to have received the medical examination results. So I went back home on Friday and called the insurance in the row. I received the insurance with the correct dates the day after.

Visa problems ... forever

The next Monday, I went to the embassy. I was pretty sure to have my visa this time. The insurance was finally ok but they couldn't make my visa anyway !!??!!?.... because of the medical exam results !?!?? When I filled the medical examination form, I had written that I had made a chest x ray last year, and they though i had tuberculosis or something like that. I told the ambassy guy that it was just for a verification after few weeks of caughing. He told me he would forward what I said to Australia and call the afternoon or the day after morning.

Flight tickets ... OK.

On Tuesday morning I noticed that i had filled the wrong mobile phone number in the form, that might be the reason why he didn't call me back. So I went to the embassy again. I met the same guy and he told me that it was ok for the visa but i had to write a letter that attest I didn't have a tuberculosis. I did it in the row. Ten minute after, he told me that he had a technical problem : the visa was ok but I had to come back the afternoon to get my visa. I decided to buy my ticket for wednesday evening. I chose Quantas Airlines. The afternoon, I went back to the embassy. And he told me that I still had the same problem, he had left a message to Australia, but he did not have any answer yet. He told me he would call me by the end of the day or the next morning.

Into the very last hours.

The next morning, i called him, and he said it wasn't ok ....he still had the same problem. That was a big deal, because I had to take the plane the same day at 11:15pm and at 2pm I couldn't reach him. So I went to the ambassy. I received a message on the way : i wish he could solve the problem this afternoon but couldn't meet me before 4pm. So I waited not far from the embassy. This day, there were lots of Barcelona football club supporters because it was the final of the Champions league. They were singing under the eiffel tower ; it was joyful.

At 4pm I met the guy from the embassy. He told me it was still not OK and asked me to wait at the embassy. 5pm, nothing i was still waiting .... I was getting crasy. What if I couldn't have this visa ??? I really felt very unlucky ... and was counting every seconds of every minutes .... tik tak tic tac ... when ... at 5:45pm I saw the guy who was coming to me with a smile. I asked him "c'est bon ?" And he awser me "Oui" and I shouted "YYYYEEEEESSSSS" I was eventually getting this visa. I was really happy.

Airport headacke

So I went back home, had dinner, said goodbye to my grand parents. Then I went to the airport with my parents and my brother. After having spent some very hard time with the visa, I was eventually in the airport. I noticed there that my plane was in fact an Airfrance one and not a Quantas one. Anyway, i got my luggage weighed : 24kilos she said. So I have 4 kg overweighed. I was i quite surprise when the asked to pay it. With Cathay Pacific, Sam was allowed to bring 30kg, and last year they didn't say anything about my overweighed luggages. They've also weighed my cabine baggages .... I was so angry because I knew i was overweighed and last year Cathay didn't even look at it. So i got every chocolate and bottle of Champagne and changed my shoes and let my Vans in France. Finally i didn't have any 30euros per kg overweighed. Really it was something i would have never though. Air France really try to make my trip as worth as possible and i really didn't like it. If you have a long trip to do .... don't choose Air France or you are going to be in trouble.

I finally get on board. The team was cool, Movies were crap. But everything was ok now.

Monday 22th May

Back to Adelaide

At last i arrived in Adelaide. I had no problems with the customs. Actually, it was really quick. Sam was supposed to pick me up at the airport but she arrived 15minutes after my arrival. It was great to see her again, she was so pretty ...

Jet lag

I'm living with Sam in a suburb called Myrtle bank. I'm still not recovered from my jet lag after 3 days in Australia : i can not sleep from 3 to 5pm. I hope I will feel better tomorow because I have to go to the office and start my work.

living with Sam

It's the first time I live with my girl friend. It's a big test : if we manage to live together for these few months it would sound good for the futur.

Since now, everything is ok ... I really love her.

nothing has really changed.

1 year have passed, and it's like i have never left Adelaide. It's so strange, time is getting so fast but thing doesn't change so much. Anyway, i'm very happy to be back here. I would have prefered beeing here for the summer but anyway, I have one year here. Let's see how things are going.

Wednesday 31 May

It's been a year I left Australia and I am really happy to be back. I am far from my country and I feel like this adventure, I started a year and a half, will not be ending soon. I had a chat with Guillaume and Olivier yesterday on the internet and i am looking forward to see them again in Australia. Olivier and Anneso will probably join me for the new year. I plan to go to Sydney to join them at these time.

Partying.

We went to a party last Week. It was a house where a guy from Sam's university is living. Actually, there are 5 people living in the house : 1 french (Pierre), 1 italian (Alberto), 1 australian (Claudia who were living the house) and a Corean couple. It was a nice party with french, ozzi and corean guys. We went to a pub by taxi afterthat. It was a pub not far from the YHA, the first place in Adelaide i've been. mhhhhh.

Sunday 4 june

It's quite sunny over here. Not too cold for a almost winter time and suprisingly warmer than in France right now. I heard that it was about 10 degrees in France whereas we have 15 degrees almost every afternoon. However, nights in Adelaide are very cold and we are pleased to have a heater in our bed room. I hope it will not be too cold in Winter.

So after work for me, and university for Sam, are coming the weeks end. Although it's time to get a rest after a hard week, we are very busy : shopping, seeing friends and visiting house fill our free time. But it's nice not to stay at home doing nothing.

So yesterday, we went to Marion Shopping Center. Some says that it's one of the biggest shopping Center of south Australia. But we didn't want to have bad surprise and wanted to see with our own eyes. The shopping center was OK. Lots of shop, some already exist in Rundle Mall but there were small shops as well. Sam were very happy to do shopping and I like to make her happy. We bought pants and tshirts. In one of my tShirt I bought were written "It's no illegal, if you don't get caught". Then we had a Café Latté and a Strowberry cheeseCake. It was nice. We took the train to come back to the city then we took the bus to home.

At 8, we had a meeting with Julie, my cousin. She came to pick us up, i offer her presents i've bought for her, her mother and brother. and we went to a café at North Adelaide. Last year, i went to this area and i didn't even know it was North Adelaide, shame on me :). It was nice to see her again.

Today, we had planned to visit a house at Semaphore park. It's far north West from the city and it takes 20minutes from the city by train. But an the WE, there is only a train every hour ... not very conveniant. Anyway, we went to the house and met Jane the owner of the house. The suburb was quite calm and the house quite small although it was not far from the train Station and the beach. I don't think we're gonna live there, we'll see.

Sunday 25th June 2006

Ozzi Ozzi Ozzi ... oy oy oy !!!

World cup has started in Australia and everybody here are very excited about "Socceroos" (Australian soccer players) results during this world cup. The point is that they haven't been part of the wordcup since the last one in Germarny 30 years ago. There are two place where you can watch soccer here in Adelaide : Rosemont, which is a bar located on the cross of Hindley Street and St, and the Casino. Rosemont is the main place to watch Soccer and there is a big screen in the Casino just for the world cup. I've been in both place to watch, France-Switzerland, Australia-Brazil, France-Korea and Australia-Croatia. This last match was amazing because Australian qualified for the next stage.

The flying bus.

I met some French guy in Adelaide, some of them are playing tarot quite often in Adelaide and this time was at Glenelg. So we had to take the tram. It was our first time and unfortunatly, we missed it :(. So we had to wait for the next one which was supposed to leave 20 minutes later. When we were waiting for it, we saw a car which cross the Victoria Square on the grass and the tram railway. The driver would have been a little bit lazy enough to take this shortcut. But we waited again and again, 40 minutes later, a guy came and told us that the tram was down because someone was driving on the tram's rail way.... He told us that a special bus were going to take us to glenelg. So we took this bus : it was quite small and the driver was friendly. However, he was not very good at driving : he was driving quite fast and when the bus crossed railway, it was flying. I thing i've done a 5meters jump from my chair. It was amazing how we finally get out of this bus safely.

We join Mel and Charlotte at a pub where we got some drinks. And we went to Mel's house to play my first Tarot game. I was not so bad for my first play. Let's see if it's not the "luck of the beginner".

Moving "upstairs"

Yersterday, Sam and I just moved upstairs my office. It's very nice, and i think i will like it. Especially the little balcony. And it's really not for from every thing : pub, cinemas, work of course and university can be reach on foot

Satuday 8 July

Week end, and i have a little time for writting instead of playing PES or watching Surf TV show :p.

Upstairs is nice

I has been 2 weeks we moved upstairs. And it's nice. It's very conveniant for shopping at the central market and yeah and it's a very nice appartment. I remember last year, when we moved upstair to work because downstair were renoving, I was thinking that it would a very nice appartment to live in. The terrace is very nice for summer time and the flat is quite big. Last but not least, I don't have to do a long walk and I don't have to take to bus neither to go to my office

Winter time

However, it's quite cold at this time of the year. 13degrees at the moment, sometimes it's better but anyway, it's very cold at night. I might say, freezing. We usually have a 10degrees gap between the min and the max temperatures.

Sam in Alice spring

This week, I spent my week alone : Sam went to Alice spring with Alberto and Pierre. I really miss her and it will be great when she will be back again. It's the first time i spent so many time on my computer... She calls me time to time, told me that there were nothing in Alice spring except the rock and a very small town.

France is going to play the world cup final

Allez les bleus !!! France finally reached the final. And it's very good for Zizou and his mate. How many times I heard "Zidane crap !!!" behind me or "Zidane retreat" because I was wearing his TShirt. So now that France is in the final, It's good to wear Zizou's tshirt :). I usually go to the Casino where there is a big screen or the Rosemont pub to watch France matches but I rarely meet French guys. But for the final, I heard that lots of French are going to the casino to watch the match it will be great :D

Saturday 2 september

Hi there, I have not given any news from me for weeks. But I'm stil alive and in Australia :)

to sum up

Unfortunatly, France have lost the world cup. during the final, the casino was packed of italians supporters. However, we were a little bit anyway. It's a shame for us it ended like that.

Winter here warmer than summer in paris

27degrees yesterday and 26 degrees the day before. Andrew told me yesterday that it was the warmer winter ever registered in South Australia. On the other hand, it's one of the coldest summer in paris and it's some day warmer here than in paris. As i told to iogui few days ago, the sun is folowing me everywhere I go :). We went to the beach few weeks ago, but day time is very short in winter and it's very cold at night so we couldn't enjoy a full day in the beach like in summer.

last months with Sam

Sam is going back to France at the end of october. We plan to do a little trip on the east coast before she is leaving.First go to cairns by plane, and do the east coast with the bus pass and trying to reach sydney. I hope it will be awful :).

We still live upstair my office, it's very nice especially when it's so sunny : having lunch in the balcony is so nice. It reminds me holidays time in Bondi beach ... So i still have few month with Sam :(. I think i will move somewhere else after her departure. I'll try to find a share accomodation in the city.

Sam is french now, she got her citisen ship few months ago. I can't bother her anymore because of her citisenship :p. What else ... she has finish her English courses and just found a job in the Adelaide show for 9 days. A first, she though she would sell bublegum. But finally she realised yesterday for her first day job that she was actually selling buble GUN.... hahaha. I'm going to meet her when as soon as she finish her day.

unfortunatly, I don't have much time to write .... i hungry and am going to cook a little breakfast. See you later

Sunday 17th September

Hi there, I've passed a very lovely day with Sam today. It was very nice.

So a sunny day

First of all, today was very sunny. 29 degrees, very few clouds and it is still warm this evening. It's weird to think that we're still in winter. Sam and I have spend a winter almost as warm as Paris's summer. So we decided to go to the beach today and enjoy our last months together under the sun. We took the tram, Glenelg beach was packed, i can't imagine how it is in summer. After a afternoon playing cards and having sun tan, we went back to the city.

Today was "Peace day" and YHA had organised a concert in Adelaide light square (the one just in front of the Central YHA). We went there just after the beach and enjoy the concert and the "firemen show". It was so nice and remind me the festivals in France like "fete de l'hummanité" or "rock en seine". We were sitting on the grass enjoying the music and the warm summer-like weather.

At the end of the day, we ignited candles on our balcony and had our dinner under the stars

Adelaide show

Every year, a show is opening for 10 days. This show consist of rides, car show, animals demonstrations and so on. It's a mix of French "Foire du Trône", "Salon de l'automobile", etc ... And Sam had find a job in this show. She was selling bubble guns for 9 days. It was very tiring for her to word so much and sometime it was very cold because of the rain. However I think it was a good experience and it's nice to make a little bit of money.

trip to cairns

We are going to Cairns this Thursday. And we have to prepare our trip. I hope it will be great.

After a very lovely day, i'm going to sleep now. :) and tomorrow ... work :) it will be hard to wake up (as every morning).

Thursday 21st September - 6:40pm

Eventually, we're in Cairns and our little trip has started. And it's so nice :). So far, we have a very nice weather.

Scary departure

We woke up at 4:15am and we had to be sure not having forgotten anything : windows closed, Sam's passport taken, etc .... So we left home just on time with our lugguages and reached the bus stop 20 mins later and 10 mins before the bus departure time. Everything was supposed to be OK we had taken everything, flight tickets, Sam's passport, mine has to be in my wallet because I didn't touch it for days ... but I didn't check if it was still here.... and it wasn't !!!!! I had probably forgotten it at home. We didn't time to go back home and I had to hope that my French driving licence would be enough to take the plane (they ask for an ID with picture).

We caught the bus which was finally comming and my French driving licence didn't caused any problems hopefully. We finally took the plane and arrived at 10am at Cairns

Cairns YHA

dsc05000We took the cab because it was cheaper than the bus for 2 people. Arrived at Cairns and the YHA Central, we were really impressed by the beauty of this backpacker. It was very nice, surrounded by palm trees and came with a very nice swimming pool. This place was one of my best YHA I have ever done (although I haven't done many). We booked a travel tour in the Daintree rainforests for the 2 next days and went around the city.

No beach but a lagoon

dsc05019 We went to the beach the whole afternoon but there were no water at this moment. (low level sea). However, we did enjoy the large swiming pool (they call it a lagoon) just next to the beach. This lagoon was probably built because the beach is a crap from crap :p. Sorry i'm mixing my French with my English. I swam a little bit and we slept under the sun the whole afternoon. It was very nice. We plan to go to the restaurant this evening and tomorow we have to wake up at 6:30am.

Friday 22nd September

The rainforest

This morning, we woke up at 6:30 because we had to booked for a trip in the Daintree rainforest. dsc05067 A coach came to pick us up and we went up to the Daintree river. dsc05058 We did a little cruise down the river and saw lots of crocodiles. Not dangerous only if you stay on the boat. A man into the water can be considered as dead and put his hand on the water was also prohibited as you can imagine. The forest was very buautiful. We went to lunch in a restaurant surrounded by palm trees. dsc05074 It was very closed to a beach where the water was hoter than the air which was already quite hot. After a day trip in the forest, river and beaches, we finally arrived in the Crocodilus Village, a small village in the middle of the rainforest. dsc05094 We were really exciting about sleeping in these kind of mix of house and tent. In these tent, we could heard birds and other animals of the rainforest.

Bananas

Something really special happened today : we've found gold ... houps, no, sorry, not exactly. Actually, we've found bananas for only 5dollars/kg which was very cheap compared to the 13dollars/kg Adelaide. :) Australian plantations of bananas have been destroyed this year by a cyclone and their price had increased such as most of the australian people can't afordable to buy bananas. At this time, if you see someone eating bananas in Australia, you can concider him as a rich person. However, it's not a problem for Sam who hates bananas. I finnaly bought 1 kilo of bananas just for me.

Beeeaaaaaaacchhhh

dsc05103 dsc05108 Today, we went to the beach, it was very nice but we had to walk for 45minutes to reach it on foot. We've spent all the day over there, the water was not as hot as yersterday but was still good and warm. We found there beaches with no one else, only Sam and I could enjoy this beautiful scenary and enjoy the swiming :) we had the whole beach just for us.

France

The YHA where we are is packed of French speaking people from France and Canada. It reminds me the time i lived in Bondi beach where you could feel like in Paris metro just by closing your eyes in the bus going to Bondi Beach.

Monday 25th September

Back to Cairns. Sam and I are spending our last day at Cairns. We are leaving tonight to Airlie Beach and are going to sleep in the coach the whole night.

The mousquitos attack

Our last day in the daintree forest started by a walk into the forest. We had just started the walk when Sam had been attacked by about ten mousquitos. So finally, the one hour walk finished with a sprint and we did it in 10minutes. We had a rest during all the day in the Crocodilus village and caught our bus to go back to Cairns in the afternoon.

Brazillians fiesta

I'm currently writting from the YHA Central in Cairns and a group of about ten Brazillians are singing with their drums, waking up the usually not so noisy YHA and giving it a new life :). We have spent the hole day in the lagoon :) getting sun tan and having a rest after our first tour. We could have done a little bit of diving in the great barrier reef but Sam was not so confident in swimming and we don't want to rush and do every thing. The more important is to enjoy the trip. So we are leaving this night to the Whitesundays islands. Some says that it is awsome. We may found beach with white sands and blue turquoise water. I hope it will be great.

Tuesday 26th September

Trip in the coach

We finnally arrived in Airlie Beach but we are so tired. We couldn't sleep much in the bus and it was not very cozy. However, we still have tomorow to have a rest. We are going to take a boat on Thursday to the whitesundays islands

Backpackers

The airlie beach YHA is not as good as the one in Cairns but it's nice anyway. After having shared the room with German, English, Japonese and netheland people, this time we have Italians guys. And all of them told us that the beach in the islands were really beautiful. So we'll see.

Saturday 30th September

Wahaaa !!!! We are just back from the sailing and it was fabulous. We'd really done a nice triop on the boat.

Sea sick

However, the trip didn't started as well as we could expected at first. First of all, Sam and I were sea sick. I god used to it by the time but Sam weren't feeling well as soon as the boat was moving. We tried to spend as much time as we could outside on the boat and it helped a little bit.

Restful sleep

dsc05268 Moreover, when we imagined the boat, we thought we would have our own room. But actually all the beds were laid out in the sides of the boat. It was like we where all sharing the same room : the boat. It was cool, we could easily knock our head each morning because the beds were too narrow. Being wake up by the snoring of one of our 28 room mates was not too bad as well. But what we really loved was the sound of the toilets. It was so noisy. We couldn't really take our shower properly : to save water on our boat, we had to rince our body very quickly and that's all. What is really bad is that we are going to take the night bus straight away after this boat trip after 2 days without a proper shower. But anyway, it's not too bad to be dirty from time to time.

Sailing

dsc05306 dsc05290 However, the trip was really great. It was quite nice to be on a sailing boat and see how the crew was working. Twice, the boat reached 45 degrees when trying to change its direction. We could also enjoy a little bit of the reef while snorkling.

Whithaven

dsc05244 dsc05209 But the best came at the end of the second day. We went to the whithaven island and sow the most beautiful beach we had ever seen : white sands and turquoise water. It was a little paradise. We stayed few hours on the beach taking pictures, laying on the beach, playing freesbee. It was what we came for and it was really great.

28 guests on board

28 was not as bad as we would have thought. We could meet lots of people. It made the trip very enjoyable coz most of the guys were under 26, it was really a mess on board as you can imagine.

Frazer Island

So now, our next step is Frazer Island. We are going to take a night bus to hervey bay and stay 1 night in there. After what, we are going to the island for 2 days. I hope it will be as good as what we just had done but I don't really expect anything better. Our trip is already great whatever the next destination. We are having a very good time.

Monday 2nd October 2006

A sand island.

We have just finish our first day trip in Frazer island. It was quite nice. Our guide told us that all the island is made of sand and that there is more sand in Frizer island than the whole Sahara. But how can it be so many trees and rain forest in this island ? Anyway this rainforest on these sands make the island unique in the world.

Hervey Bay at the hostel

We arrived at Hervey bay yesterday morning and has been picked up by the YHA. We didn't see much of this area because we were so tired. Moreover, I couldn't really walk because of my cuts from the snorkeling under my foot. However, we did the thing we had to do after 2 nights of sailing and 1 night of bus. We did take a real and proper shower.

roller coaster

dsc05333 The guide picked us up from the YHA, we took the ferry and there we were in the island. We jumped onto the 4x4 giant bus. Giant because it's a real bus. Not the one which can carry only 10 people but one that can carry about 40 people. But the most amazing was how our guide was driving this bus. We though he was driving a racing car. You can imagine how it was on the bus with the not flat road of frizer island.

RainForest

dsc05326 dsc05329 We started the tour with a little walk through the rainforest. It was not so different from the daintree ones apart from the sand under our feet. We had the pleasure to meet a quite big leward and to walk beside the very light and clear water river.

Dessert in the island

dsc05345 dsc05349 dsc05356 After the lunch, the guide (Patrick) took us to the lake Wabby. But to reach this lake, we had to walk through 1km of sand. It was so hot, it was like walking for hours. We were really happy to arrive to the lake and have a swim. We've spent few hours in the lake, swimming, laying under the sun and after that, we came back to the bus and went to the accomodation.

Dinner with the other guys

We had dinner to the restaurant of the accomodation which looked like a cantine rather than restaurant. However, the food was not to bad. It was a real pleasure to share this dinner with the other guys from the tour : the guide, the couple of jewish and their daughter as well as the two Irish girls. Tjey told us that the best place to see whale was in Hervey bay. However, we are not going to see them because we have to leave Hervey Bay on Wednesday morning and the bus is already booked.

Tuesday 3rd October

Missed morning

dsc05365 This morning, we missed the whales and the plane. We could have taken a small plane to see Frizer island from the sky but I was the only one interested and the pilot was taking a minimum of two passengers. Anyway, I will have the opportunity to see Frazer island from google earth. We also missed the whales, we could have seen them from the big rock but we had left it to early. Anyway, our goal is not to do or see everything but enjoy our trip as much as possible, so no worries...

Lake McKensy

dsc05418 After lunch, we went to the famous lake Mc Kenzie. This lake is simply beautiful. I think it is the more enjoyable lake I have ever been. The water was turquoise and the sand white. Although it was not as incredible as the whitehaven beach, it was still amazing. dsc05423 Sam and I really had a good time during this tour.

Friday 6th October

Brisbane

dsc05449 It's so weird to be back in a big city. Brisbane is bigger than I though but not especially different from another big city. We'd just been staying 2 days. Sam really like it because she could practice her favorite activity : shopping. So it was not so good for me to be back to the city :p.

Brisbane by Sam

dsc05455 According to Sam, Brisbane is nice, crowded (compared to Adelaide) sunny, good for shopping and has good restaurant.

1 year with Sam

dsc05460 Sam and I have been going out for 1 year now. For this event, we have chosen to go to the restaurant. But we had to find a good one. We looked at the ones next to the YHA, but it was to quiet or to noisy. We didn't found the ideal restaurant there. We decided to move to the city center. After having hang around the too expensive restaurants, having tried the irish pub where the waiters were just ignoring us, we'd found a nice restaurant just in the opposite where the food were not too expensive and nice as well (especially my vegetarian toast, yummy ).

Saturday 7th October

"Good by Byron !!!", just said Sam to me. Byron bay was very nice, the swells were nice and Sam is nice :p.

2 days at Byron

dsc05463 We stayed 2 days and 1 night at Byron. The First day, we walked around the tiny city and Sam did some shopping. The swells didn't seem to be so good this day so I decided to wait for the day after to surf.

Finding a surf board

This morning I wanted to hire a board at the YHA but there were no board left. It was a shame because it was only 10$ for the day. So I had to hire a board for 30$ the day. The good thing was that I could choose the board I wanted. I tryed to take the closest board to the one I have in Adelaide.

Surfing

dsc05475 Once having hired the surf board. We spent the whole day on the beach. We ate nachios at lunch and I was surfing the rest of the day while Sam was getting more and more tanned under the sun. My surfing was not as good as few years ago but It was OK and I really enjoyed it. Thanks Sam to have let me surf all the day :)

Sunday 8th October

Back to the source

dsc05479 dsc05480 We arrived this morning in Sydney and we went to the Railway YHA. It was so nice to be back here after so many times. Moreover, the bedroom where Sam and I are is just in front of the one I was two years ago for my first night in Australia. Same layout, same admosphere, nothing has changed.

Windy

We had a perfect weather since the begining of our trip. But today was very windy and cold here in Sydney. I hope the weather will be better the next days.

Aquarium

dsc05525 After having walk around the darling harbour under the wind and the clouds we finished our day in the aquarium and saw rays, sharks, seals and lots of other beautiful fishes. dsc05486 Before entering the aquarium, I did exactly a picture of me next to a fake shark, the same one i did two years ago. dsc05537 dsc05543 I told Sam we may meet possum in the hide park and we did :). I little possum that was not afraid about us. I think they are getting used to human by the time. dsc05546 dsc05552 We had dinner at the YHA and walked to the rocks. There, we took few night photos of the harbour bridge and the opera house. :) I finish the night there, we had a nice time just watching the sea, sydney's opera house and harbour bridge lights.

Sunday 22th october

Back to bondi

dsc05560 The second day at sydney, I went back to Bondi Beach. I've spent so many time there. It was really weird to have so many memories coming at the same time just by looking around. The house where we used to live is still there. And the beach was like the day we left :). dsc05561 After a short walk in the path to marubra beach, we went to the shopping center where Sam could enjoy her favorite hobby. She was quite amaze about the number of storage. We had lunch to one of the food court and had one of these crepe I used to had when Olivier and I were taking these English course there.

The end of a amazing trip

dsc05590 For our last day in Sydney, we went to the opera house again to take picture of the main Sydney monuments at day. But the weather was not so good but very cloudy. Anyway, we had lunch at Hungry Jack and when we went out from the restaurant, it was so sunny. That's what I don't like in Sydney, it's very windy and you can not predict the weather. We finally came back to the opera house to take nice picture this time. We didn't have much time, and we though it would be great to go to Manly by ferry instead of shopping as we had planned to do. dsc05597 dsc05603 And it was not so bad :) the ferry didn't change much and Manly was a nice thing to do to end our trip. We had the opportunity to see surfers and the beach. And that's all :). Back to the ferry, we went back to Sydney, walk through the city and came back to the YHA. After having some rest, we went to the airport and .... bye bye Sydney. It was the end of our holiday. It was a little bit sad but we were back home in Adelaide. Sam had at this moment only one week in Adelaide.

dsc05619 We had spend a very good moment on the east coast of Australia. The weather were with us during all the trip except in Sydney. And it was very wonderful : the daintree, whitesundays island, frazer island, brisbane, byron bay and Sydney were really good stops. And I'll without doubts advice these destination to anyone who is visiting Australia. It was very nice and we really enjoyed it. We came back completly tanned :), but it was not so bad to be back home in Adelaide : home sweet home.

Last days with Sam... snif

After this trip, we spent a day together in Adelaide and I had to go back to work the next day. I have found back my passport in the pocket of one of my jacket hopefully :).

It was a very very very little week i have spent with Sam before her final departure to Paris. And I was very sad. I'm still very sad. Sam cooked her best dishes during this week and we also had a crepe party with my uncle, awnty, Ethan, Elaine and Julie.

The last day came very fast and the time at the airport was terrible. I could'nt believe she was going back home but it was true. After so many time living together, I didn't realise how hard it would be. But it is.... Now I realise how i miss her and also that we didn't have many friends here. We stayed most of our time together and didn't really try to make friends. I'm feeling lonely and have to move before getting nuts alone in the appartment. I hope it will better tomorow. I'm going to visit a room tomorow, I hope it will be nice.

Sunday 10th December

Hi there, it was a long month with nice and not so nice moments. But my stay in Australia is still great and I still enjoy it.

Melbourne

So when was it? I think it was 3 weeks ago ... I went to Melbourne to meet Julien. A friend of mine met through the internet and we had couple of parties before he left France to Australia. I have never had the opportunity to meet him again in Australia and because he was doing his last days here, it was the good time. So he told me about his last party in Melbourne so i decided to join him for the WE.

I took the night bus from Adelaide to Melbourne, because it was cheaper and i could book the trip few hours before the trip. But it was not really a good idea : I could hardly get asleep in this bus ...

I waited for Julien the whole morning, getting around Melbourne. I had a good break fast it a café and went to the aquarium. Finally i met him and his friend Wembui. We went to the market coz they had to by some presents and then we went to the party. He was leaving quite far from the City and it took about 45minutes by tram to get there. Anyway, he didn't often go to the city coz his uni was closed to his place and all his friend from the uni were living in the same area. So i had the opportunity to meet his friend. Most of them were from Europe. After a drink, we went to the belgium bar café not to far from st kilda

I should had plan this trip, i didn't know where i was sleeping this night and it was a pain to get back to the backpacker. I should have book before and let my stuff there. Anyway, it was a good party, even if i got too drunk.

Sunday was hard. I had to get up very early and i was so tired after the night i had spent. However, I had the chance to visit the museum of immigration and get around the city.

I waited the bus the whole day and couldn't sleep during the return way. So you can imagine how hard it was at work on Monday morning.

Moving in

I had to move. Staying in the appartment where Sam and I've spent so many good moments was too hard. Each time I went in the appartment, I was so sad not finding her in there. I was completly desesperated and i think i've spent the worse moment of my life. So I tried to do what i had to do, move out of the house and find new friends and have fun. I met Fabrice again (a friend i met from a forum), and I started to go out with him and his friends : Hugues, Fleur, Amandine, Misty and Nina. I asked Hugues if there were some spare room in his house and he told me that one of his house mate were moving out. I visit the house at his party the next day and finished in the swimming pool. It was done, the house was good enough for me :) (especially the swiming pool)

I moved in the next week. I took the best room i think, i'm the only one who has the air conditionner which is good. I'm sharing the house with Hugues, Clement (from sudan), Baska and Suresh (India)

Surfing

Hugues, my new house mate is also a surfer. A body surfer in fact. He is going to bring his board from France but we have been surfing anyway 2 weeks ago. And it was not to bad :). We've been to Seaford (1hour south of Adelaide). The swells were not so good. However, i managed to take few waves :) and we had a good time :).

Yorke peninsula

So with my new friends, i'm going out more and more often. last WE we went camping in Yorke peninsula. dsc05852 Fabrice and I brought our guitar and try to play together. :) it was not too bad actually. we had few drinks and really had fun. On sunday, we've been to one of the most beautiful beach i've ever been. dsc05899 Not too far from edithburg, there is such a thing as a haven in South Australia. It was really beautiful :). the sand was not as white as the whitesundays one but the water was so clear and hot... it was a delight for our eyes as well.

41 degrees

We reached 41degrees, and maybe more this WE. And it was nice to have a pool in our house :). So we spend the whole afternoon in the swiming pool. and after that, we went to BT's parties and dive into the 100 guests :). It was really nice, and not as messy as i would have imagine, before comming into there. :) we've spend a very nice time.

New year in Sydney. Thursday 4th of January

First, happy new year !!!! This year, i'd spent the new year with my friends (who were coming from France) in Sydney. It was really fantastic. Chacha, Mat, Fabard, Lionel and I had spent a really good time together. It was unforgetable.

Bad news

I was really sad when I checked my emails once arrived in Sydney. Olivier and Annso finally cancelled all their plan for personal reasons. I hope it is going better. They are really not lucky and i was really sad to have this news. We had spent so many time in Sydney together that it would have been a joy to be back in this city with them. Anyway, it's life and I am really support them. They are simply a fantastic couple. Big hug to you two.

Alan and Lin

As usual when I come to Sydney, Alan and Lin come to pick me up. They are so nice each time I come. I don't know what to do and am so embarassed in front of these so nice guys. They invite me to lunch to the restaurant and i had a rest in their house before going to pick my friends Mat and Chacha to the airport ... this first day was very tirering i only slept 2 hours .... I had to get ready and slept at 2am the night before and had to wake up at 4:15 the day after to take the plane. It was not easy because a long week was waiting for me

rounds, BBQ and snack ... welcome to Australia

dsc06007So I went to pick Mat and Cha2 the first nite at about 10pm at the airport :). I was so excited to meet them and I had forgotten what the word "laugh" meant. These two big fellows are simply crasy and funny.

dsc06107 We went straight away to the 3 wise monkey pub where we started to drink. It was the begining of the end ... because all the days I've spend with these guys, i couldn't avoid drinking and having rounds and rounds and rounds of beer or wine or strowbom. We spent our nite at the 3monkeys, the scubar, the opera bar and the side bar until very late in the nite .... and woke up every morning at 10am sharp to visit Sydney. Our days and nights were really great :).

New year eve party

dsc06138 dsc06134 dsc06139 Thanks to Fabard, a friend of Chacha, who was also from our school Ingénieurs2000, we had the opportunity to spend the new year eve into the very exciting Julie's place :) (The place was exciting, not Julie, ... sorry Julie i was just talking about the place !!! ). She is living in Rosebay in a appartment with a swimming pool and a beach just next to it and a view to the harbour bridge. The ideal place to see the fireworks. So after having few drinks in her place, we prepared the BBQ and watched the first fireworks. After what we had a swim in the swiming pool. Unfortunatly I found my camera broken and couldn't take the photos of the second fireworks. This last fireworks (we called it the parent's one) was simply delecious for our eyes and we were definitly in one of the best place to watch the fireworks.

So after having clean everything up, we walked to Bondi beach completly drunk and arrived at the end of Bob Sinclar Concert. Indeed, we couldn't access to this concert which was finished anyway. Again we were completly drunk and jump over the city and the backpacker I think.

This new year eve was one of the best i have ever done or maybe the best. We had a lovely place. Thank you again Fabard and Julie. And Sydney was definitly the best place to spend it. Of course, having my very good friends from France was the icing on the cake.

Dead at the end

So at the end, after rounds and rounds of alcohol, I was dead. I couldn't drink anything. I spent my last day at Alan house and went to the city to join Fabard in the swiming pool spa and sona. It was so good to get relax there after so many days of parties. After what I got a message from Bree who told me that few guys from Adelaide were going to have they last night at the 3 wise monkey

From Adelaide

I met Bree and Chris from Adelaide there and few other guys : Amit, Jhalmar, Julia, Tom, Hseneh and toesten to have a drink and heard that Amandine and Nina were there in Sydney. Because Nina's boy friend was wearing thong, he couldn't enter in the pub so after a while, i went to join them and had my last drink with them in Sydney.

It was great

Yeah it was great to be there and see Mathieu and Chacha. Good to have fun with them and Fabard and Lionel as well :). As i say before, it was one of my best time for the new year.

Innes Nationnal Park - Yorke Peninsula. January 30th 2007

Back from This WE was the Australia day so we had our Friday off and it was the good opportunity to go back to Yorke Peninsula. This time we had one more day and we could plan to go further than last time we went there : Innes National Park. Was also on board : Hugues (my housemate), Fabrice, Misty and Fleur.

Typically Australian

p1290024 p1290093 p1290080 p1290089 p1290146 This WE was typically Australian (according to Andrew). We had the praws on the BBQ and we went to the camping site with Fleur's father's UTE !!!! :) It was the first time I was in this kind of car and we tried to take care of this precious car.

Surfing, Kangaroo and relaxation

Although we had done almost nothing over there, it was the good time to get relax and appreciate the weather and the nice food Fleur organised for us (thank you Fleur). I really enjoyed the nite we spend in the tent listening Jazz music. We were staying around the candles which were our last source of light because our gas lite was broken that finally became a very great. Surfing was not so good because we had not good conditions. We were sourrounded by hips of Kangaroo and bees looking for food and fresh water. The beaches were really nice as usual in Yorke Peninsula and sun tan was a matter of fact. We've really spent a good moment there :).

Et la c est le drame .... March 28th 2007

I didn't have much time to write and give news these last two month now. I was too lasy and had been held by parties and my job. Anyway it's time to jump 2 month ago

The pool party

P2190001.JPG 2007-02-16 Before the pool party It all begin in a party at Heidi's place. It was the beginning of the uni and there were lots of new people arriving : big party, lots of people, lots of beer, it was great and hot and Hugues and I had this night the not so good idea to invite people at home to use our pool

It was not so a good idea. It was the kind of idea you have when you are drunk. "Let's go to the pool" we were saying without thinking about what it was going to happen. When we got there, the landlords were not so happy about the noise our guest were doing. I've been asked to leave the house in 7 days after an argue.

Finally, we went to talk to the landlords few days later about what happened. And they were happy to forget that. It was the last time, Hugues and I invited guest at home.

p2060053.jpg We spend good times however at home in the pool before that. Having, BBQs and enjoying the pool by a 42degrees weather was really nice.

Adelaide, the festival state

I have to say that I'm going out a lot, Fabrice went to indonesia for few weeks, but I was far from alone, with Hugues, Amandine, Nina and Fleur we went out to festivals and concerts around Adelaide. In fact, I was quite disapointed about the concept of festival from the Australian point of view. It's more a way to make money than anything else. Everything was expensive : to enter, to drink and to eat. And sometime it was not so good inside. For example, I went the the Italian festival, paid 12dollars to enter and .... went out 10mins later because there were nothing special to see and it was cheaper to eat and drink in the city. What a shame.

So yeah, I've also been to the Womadelaide, a world music festival for 3 days, but i was so hot that it was pretty hard to stay in front of the stage. It was good we've seen some French band. And I shouldn't complain all the time ;)

I've heard so many time about the fringe festival, normally every 2 years, it's the first time that it was happening 2 years in a row, so we were quite lucky. Hugues and I were quite disapointed as well. We were expected lots of people going out everyday and not only on Friday or Saturday. It was really a shame. However, I really enjoyed the opening : i've never seen so many people on Rundle st. We saw lots of street performer and it was pretty nice.

Hugues departure

Hugues, my house mate has gone, a month after the incident in the house, he has quit his job. So it was the last times i was seeing him for his birthday and the st patrick. We were happy to have lots of drinks but the The PJ Obrian was so packed, we could enter without waiting for 2hours so because it was packed everywhere else aswell, we decided to give up and go back home. This time again, it was a big disapointment, especially for hugues last night

I was very sad to see my housemate leaving australia, the house is very quite, i'm going out by taking the bus now, last time when I went to meet Nina and Amandine at Glenelg it took me 1 and a half hour to get there by bus and tram. And another time, 25dollars to come back with the taxi. :S

new parties, new friends ....

Kangaroo island

Few weeks ago i decided to go to Kangaroo island. In Australia there were 2 days off including the WE, so i take the opportunity to go there for 3 days. I went by my self, with a tour and it was quite cheap. We were about 13 in the group and mostly backpackers or students it was pretty great

The first day, we head off Fleurieur peninsula for a bit of hiking and a surf lessons in Middleton beach. It was a pleasure to come back there after so many time. This time it was a bit packed compare to last time i've been there :). I was pretty great because we had soft board and it was pretty easy to get up and enjoy the surf. The last surf session with hugues were not so good because I couldn't really control my board. By the way, i've sold my board to Eugen, a house mate of Coraline and MJ, so yeah i'm a bit sad about that.

We went to the island at the end of the afternood after the surfing and arrived in our farm accommodation at about 8 where we had dinner. We stayed a while in front of a fire and had a big night. This day was pretty hard because I had had a big hang over from the party the day before with Amandine. I was not so good when I was surfing but I was ok :).

The 2 others days, was a visit around the island : remarkable rocks, seabay, little sahara etc ... We saw lots of animals like whales (unlikely during this time of the year), lezards, koalas etc ... But surprisingly, we didn't see much kangaroo. Maybe it was because of the heat. By the way, we were very lucky about the weather . According to Andrew and Deb, it's always raining during the easter and it's always freezing in Kangaroo island according to Daniel, whereas it was very sunny and hot during these 3 days. We had the chance to swim in the very beautiful beaches of the island. We had also been hiking and sandboarding. Sandboards are very similar to snowboards but i couldn't manage to turn. I had to go straight but i was fun anyway :D .

These 3 days in Kangaroo island was pretty good, but i didn't had the time to make very good friends. We finished the trip on Monday and no one from the group was excited about going to the grace emily. Anyway, I've spent a very good time with Coraline, Amandine and the others to the grace.

Adelaide to Alice spring, Dimanche 27 Mai

Ils vont vraiment tous me manquer.

Adelaide vers Alice spring

Ca va me manquer l'Australie. Mais Sam me manque encore plus alors je ne me plaint pas :) je n'ai plus que quelques heures gros bisous à tous :D
